Goals of the Project

This was a class assignment. We had to design a book cover for a book proposed by another student. That student served as our Art Director. We also selected a book, wrote a proposal and served as an Art Director for someone else.

The cover designs had to be significantly different than covers that already existed for the book.

Art Director Requirements:

The director requirements were that we had to select a book we had read recently and enjoyed. Write a 1-2 page proposal for the work to be done including: Title, subtitle & author of the book, a written synopsis of the book, author bio, and suggestions as to the type of imagery, color choices, style, medium and tone of the cover. We also had to provide the book size / dimentions. We were also supposed to meet with our designer regularly to critique and advise their work.

I designed the book cover as part of a class project for Graphic Design in the 2010 fall semester at The University of Findlay.
